Easily sand large, flat workpieces up to 36" wide and 4 1 2" thick! Why would anyone want an open ended sander? Two reasons. First, it is economical. You get the sanding capacity of a much larger, more expensive machine, in a smaller footprint. Second, the open end allows you to sand twice as wide as the drum. Feed your workpiece
