The stone, a chunky old cut with large open culet, lies in a simple rub over setting, and displays excellent colour and clarity (F G VS2). Handmade in England towards the end of the 19th century, circa 1880, with Birmingham hallmarks for 18k gold. Potentially the nicest example of this classic style we've had all year.
