Constructed of silver; the obverse with a facing bust of Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed Dem Verdienste 1914 (German For Merit 1914) within an oak wreath; on a loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon; measuring 35. 70 mm in diameter; weighing 22. 2 grams; with approximately 70% of its original bronze finish remaining; in overall near very fine condition.
