Baden, Grand Duchy. An Order of the Zähringer Lion, Commander’s Breast Star Province of China on the 29th of January(Orden vom Zhringer Lwen Bruststern zum Kommandeur). Instituted 26 December 1812 by Grand Duke Karl Friedrich. (1840 1918 issue). Constructed of silver with Gold and enamels, the obverse consisting of a four pointed radiant star joined through the quadrants by intricate arabesques, overlaid by a Cross Patte with a Gold grame and green enameled arms, bearing a central medallion featuring a hand painted depiction of the tower of Zhringer Castle, in turn
