Wilhelm served with Radfahr Ersatz Schwadron 69 until 19 11 1940 then with Radfahr schwadron aufklarungs Abteilung 6 until 25 01 1942. He was deployed in France (Kstenschtz kanalkste) then Eastern Front (Operation Barbarossa). He was wounded on 08 01 1942, shrapnel in his shoulder. 25 01 1942 he dies of his injuries. Wilhelm was posthumously awarded the EK2, Verwundeten abzeichen schwarz
