Four piece construction, in bronze gilt with red, white and blue enamels, obverse centerpiece illustrating Queen Maria Isabella Luisa, surrounded by the inscription "ISABEL II REINA DE ESP", reverse centrepiece with the monogram "MYL"surrounded by the inscription "AL MERITO MILITAR", measuring 27 mm (w) x 44 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, original ribbon, scattered chipping and loss evident
