In silver gilt, a ball tipped enameled white Maltese Cross, presenting cluster of seven gilded rays in each quadrant, obverse centre in black, red, and white enamels depicting time of period Spanish coat of arms, encircled by an enameled red border inscribed AL MERITO SANITARIO (To Health Merit), reverse with ornament pin assembly and dual stays, measuring 60. 04 mm (w) x 61. 03 mm (h), with
