Constructed of magnetic steel, the cover bearing a raised profile of a Heer soldier wearing a Stahlhelm opening on a functional hinge to reveal a hollow interior with a lip to accommodate a matchbox, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 60 mm (h), notably retaining a package of Strike Rite matches, produced in London, Ontario, c. 1944, added by the Canadian serviceman who retrieved the case from Europe during the
