1883 Wood Engraving Fountain Kyoto Temple Japanese Architecture Dragon LAJ1 HST1 This is an original 1915This is an original 1883 black and white wood engraving of a fountain in an unnamed Kyoto temple in Japan. It was reproduced with great detail by Henri Gurard from a picture taken by architect M. Josiah Conder while studying Japanese architecture for completion of the Rokumeikan in Tokyo. Henri Charles Gurard was born in Paris on April 24, 1846. Gurard started his artistic career in architectural design studying at the Ecoles des Beux Art. However, by
