It uses an infrared sensor on the combustible channel, which keeps combustible readings accurate in inert, oxygen deficient atmospheres where a catalytic sensor cannot be relied on, exactly the condition found inside an inerted cargo tank. Combustible gas is measured across both 0 to 100% LEL and 0 to 100% volume methane, alongside oxygen 0 to 40%, carbon monoxide 0 to 1,000
