Antarctopelta oliveroi Pliosaurus The skull of the AsfaltovenatorAntarctopelta oliveroi is an ankylosaur dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous, approximately 74 70 million years ago, in what is now Antarctica. Its discovery was significant because it was the first ankylosaur dinosaur identified on the Antarctic continent and one of the few dinosaurs found in this polar region. The fossil remains of this dinosaur were found on James Ross Island, in strata corresponding to the Santa Marta Formation, and were
